Will Kaplan

Will joined the Gates Foundation in 2022, and works to evaluate, structure, and manage strategic investments across many different sectors to support the Foundation’s program strategies. His work to date has included guarantees supporting new tools to address malaria and to support childhood nutrition, as well as investments in financial services.

Prior to joining the Foundation, Will worked at TriLinc Global, where he focused on private credit in Africa and Latin America. He also worked at Sixth Street Partners and Barings LLC as a research analyst focused on leveraged loans and high yield bonds across several industries. Will has an MBA with a Sustainability Certificate from the MIT Sloan School of Management and a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Political Science from Vanderbilt University.
