Matt is a corporate and transactional attorney with over 25 years of experience negotiating and documenting complex investments.
During his 11 years at the Foundation he has been the lead transaction counsel on more than 50 completed program-related investments, mission-related investments and other innovative financing transactions involving entities in over a dozen different countries.
Prior to joining the Foundation, he spent 15 years at K&L Gates LLP where he was a partner in the corporate/securities group. At K&L Gates he represented public and private companies in the full range of corporate and securities law matters, including corporate and limited liability company formations, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, public and private securities offerings, compliance with state and federal securities laws, stock exchange listing and corporate governance. He also represented clients in negotiating and drafting prime brokerage documentation, ISDA agreements and futures documentation. He is a graduate of Stanford University and the UCLA School of Law.
