Gaurav joined the Gates Foundation in 2023 as an Investment Associate, focusing on volume guarantees. Gaurav views volume guarantees as a powerful tool capable of igniting strong market dynamics and broadening access to goods and services for tens of millions — if not hundreds of millions — of people.

Prior to joining the foundation, Gaurav Mohta garnered nearly a decade of consulting experience. His most recent position was at McKinsey & Company, within the global energy and materials team, where he handled diverse projects including corporate strategy, growth strategy, and due diligence.

Gaurav holds an MBA from the Oxford Saïd Business School and a B.Tech in Mining Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University. Beyond his professional pursuits, he finds joy in playing sports and exploring various corners of Europe through his travels.
