Archana strives for the intersection of innovation & impact in South Asia.
She joined the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in 2013 and established its venture investments presence in India in 2018, alongside maiden investments in South/South-East Asia. Based in London, her 17+ year career spans consulting, strategy, public policy, and impact investing across KPMG and Gates Foundation in India & the UK.
Archana invests across fintech, healthtech, agritech & climate, and women-centric innovations — specializing in India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Indonesia. She is the Foundation’s Board observer on Cropin, Avanti Finance, and Kaleidofin (and Tata 1mg until exit) and worked on other investments such as LumiraDx and OneLoad.
Growing up in a humble Indian home that prioritized community service, Archana values mission-focus and resilience to improve the status quo. As the African proverb says, “If you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go together”: Bold, humble entrepreneurs who dream new possibilities, learn from failures, and build solutions that help people go farther together interest her the most.
