Vir to extend COVID-19 treatment approach to HIV, malaria with $50M from Gates Foundation

Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, and UNICEF Announce $150 Million Guarantee to Support Access to Vaccines and Health Supplies in Low- and Middle-Income Countries

SEATTLE – STOCKHOLM – COPENHAGEN (November 12, 2021) – The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), and UNICEF today announced a $150 million financial guarantee to help UNICEF procure vaccines and other health-related supplies for low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).

Seattle-area startup Inventprise gets backing from Gates Foundation for pneumonia shot

[November 10, 2021] Inventprise has been slowly growing in Redmond, Wash., expanding into four research and manufacturing facilities to support early development of a host of vaccines since its founding in 2012.

The company is now set to advance an investigational vaccine for pediatric pneumococcal disease into human testing with new funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

Avanti Finance raises $26mm from Oikocredit, Nomura, Gates Foundation

Provivi raises $10m from Gates Foundation to bring insect pheromone tech to smallholder farmers

The fall armyworm is considered by many to be the most destructive and costly pest that farmers battle around the globe, especially for smallholder farmers. With limited access to inputs or a lack of financial means to purchase the right products, controlling the fall armyworm is often a losing battle. Novel pest management startup Provivi is teaming up with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to make the fight a little fairer for smallholder farmers in developing countries.
